Vegas Heat, Mercury Customs Special Newsletter Preview of Vegas Heat There are many benefits to being a member of our newsletter list. On special occasions you'll get the inside look at projects before the rest of the world sees them. This month we preview a client bike that hasn't even parked itself on our website yet. Many of you might identify with this scenario; the client fell in love with 'Hard Eight' but wanted to put his own mark on it (which we encourage here). But what changes? After much discussion, it came down to adding more chrome components, a unique intake and exhaust system and a different drivetrain combination. What do you get when you take the 'black tie' look of Hard Eight and add the Las Vegas bling? We call it ''Vegas Heat'. No contests this month to figure out where the client lives. It's all in the details... so we began with the wheels - chrome instead of polished and we went with a slightly different Performance Machine style, the Villain. Next decision was the pipes - chrome Martin Bros. Slickstas instead of ceramic black. And we continued throughout the design, switching many components to chrome instead of black anodized or powdercoated. But certain things had to stay the same; it's critical to keep the front end black anodized in order to give the bike the same balanced look. As for the engine, the decision was an S&S 96" which really gives this bike great sound and ample power for cruising the strip. In the end, you still get the overall look of 'Hard Eight' but with some great changes that make it unique. Over the course of each bike build, we have the great opportunity to get to know our clients well. And they get to enjoy their bike build over the web. In this client's case, his claim to fame was how he shared his web information with friends and family (some clients keep it private, others choose to share their website - it's totally up to them). Our client would sometimes get calls from his friends that new pictures were up on his site before he had a chance to see them - it was fun to hear how they viewed and shared the experience together. Here's the question: , "If you could design your version of 'Hard Eight', what would it look like?"At last ... presenting 'VegasHeat'. It's 'HardEight' with bling (Vegas, baby!). Take 'HardEight', add some chrome pipes, chrome air cleaner and serious chrome essentials and you get 'VegasHeat'. Once again, we take the inspiration from the client. He had studied up for over a year before taking the plunge and knew exactly what he wanted. The geometry and black finish look with his own style. This bike has been on the roads of Las Vegas for over two years now, has thousands of miles on it and still looks and rides like new. We get calls from Las Vegas residents who have met the owner, seen the bike in person, and are compelled to call us with questions and inquiries for their own custom bike build. 'VegasHeat' really turns their heads. And the owner is a proud Mercury Customs member of the family. He'll invite you to sit on the bike, visit his house to see it, you name it. We don't believe in sales teams here; just satisfied clients. While some clients add a Mercury Customs motorcycle to their riding collection, others have only one motorcycle. That's the way it is with 'VegasHeat'; one owner, one bike, and that's all he needs. Here's to you, Geoff!
